Chesterfield and District CAMRA

The Temple Hotel, Matlock Bath.

Temple Hotel, Matlock Bath.Landlord Chris Richardson received his Matlock & Dales (MAD) CAMRA Summer Pub of the Season Award on Saturday 19th July from MAD Chairman Colin Fearnley. This current award will take the Temple’s tally of sub-Branch awards to two, following on from their Winter 2007/8 Pub of the Season Award, presented late last year.

In the last couple of years Chris has turned the Temple Hotel in Matlock Bath into an oasis for real ale. As a CAMRA member, Chris is justly proud of his beer and the fact you always get a full measure without having to ask. The Temple also supports local microbreweries, often having themed beer evenings, which include “Meet the Brewer” sessions and beer festivals.

This pretty Georgian hotel can be found overlooking Matlock Bath and the Derwent Valley and is an excellent place to stay, eat and enjoy some good quality beer too.Boasting such famous visitors over the years as Lord Byron and Princess Victoria, you will be in good company too!
